Profile- Robert Cavinee

I, Robert 'Bobby' Cavinee am the owner/operator of Archipelago Tours and am an ambitious entrepreneur driven to succeed. I am a Clamdigger raised on City Island attended Fordham Preparatory School and graduated from Saint Joseph's University, of Philadelphia PA, concentrating in Economics, Business Administration, and International Relations in 2008.

At Saint Joseph's I joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and worked for the university as a tour guide and security escort. As a tour guide I represented the university to prospective students and their families. As a security escort drove the campus 'Drunk Bus' and helped students feel safe in west Philadelphia. During college I got the opportunity to study abroad at Macquarie University in Sydney Australia for one semester. During my six months in Australia I studied finance and got to travel though much of Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Check out my travel pictures on the media page.

After college amidst the financial crisis of 2008, I went to work in one of the only fields that seemed to
thrive, tourism in the most visited city in the world. I
obtained my Sightseeing guides licenses from the Department of Consumer Affairs and started working as a Tour Guide for CitySightsNY the largest double decker bus operator in New York. After over a year of touring the city all day and some nights on a double decker bus in the city I was still looking for some adventure. So took a weekend job as a trip leader for Adventure leading outdoor sports trips (hang gliding, ice climbing, ATV riding, etc.) and hikes. As part of my job with adventure society I obtained a NYS Outdoor Guide licenses as a Hiking, Camping and Boating Guide from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. I also attended courses from the American Red Cross and New York State Outdoor Guide Association and began to focus on navigation, mountaineering and other skills that would aid in the great outdoors.

With few promotion opportunities in the tour machine CitySights and student loans looming over my head I decided to reroute my career back to my degree in economics and the financial services industry. I started working for a small group of currency traders cold calling potential clients and explaining the benefits of the currency market. Once exposed to the FOREX market I became fascinated and spent my days on the phone with clients, my evenings in Technical Analysis class at NYU SCPS and weekends doing tours for adventure society and the tour trolley. Then, the new Financial Regulations forced the firm to change to a domestic clearing firm and eventually the company disbanded.

Then in 2011 at Kodak Event Imaging Solutions I was able to use the sales tactics I had learned and was very successful cross promoting a wide range of Kodak's products. during this period I seasonally worked as a SCUBA Diver and dive gear salesmen at Captain Mike's Dive Shop on City Island.

In 2012 I joined CIBT as a Consulate Liaison, and from the beginning I felt at home in the Travel Documents business. My enthusiasm was recognized and I was quickly promoted to Visa Processing Agent. I learned how to get a almost any visa and was selected to handle the important accounts.
